In SSIS 2012 Data Conversion, is it implicitely TRY_CAST() is calling?
Hi,
I was trying to load an excel file with numbers from 1 to 12 and in between I typed 'abc'.
Then I used Data Conversion to convert the above column to int, and also configured an error output to a flat file.
What I expected was,row 'abc' sent to error output. But what happened was no rows were sent to error output, instead it was sent as null to the success line itself. I think in SSIS 2012, it is TRY_CAST which is working and not CAST. Am I Correct? If I am,
is there any way to explicitely make it CAST function, so that I can redirect the row 'abc' to error output?

Have you set the error op as redirect row?
