In Reporting Services, a clickable cell that links to a URL loses its format when rendered by SSRS 2008 R2.
I have a Tablix, and one of the cells has the action 'Go to URL'. The cell is set with Arial 8pt. The expression I've for the action: ="javascript:void(window.open('" & Fields!ActionURL.Value & "'))". I works and works well!!! The problem is, when the report is deployed to a server 2008 R2. When the report is rendered with the ReportViewer the cell loses its format. It does not display with Arial 8pt, it displays with a different font size and bigger. This is only for the cell that has the action set. When I deploy the same report to SSRS 2008 (just 2008) the report is rendered fine with ReportViewer. This only happen when I open the report with the ReportViewer and the report is hosted in a SRSS 2008 R2. Please help.

H John, It is unusual that the font of the hyperlink has been changed after deployed on Report Server. I also did a test based on your description but it always works fine. Currently, please create a new report, only add a textbox and specfy its "Go to URL" action to a simple URL like ="http://www.technet.com" and also set with Arial 8pt. Then, deploy the report to the SSRS 2008 R2 report server to see if the font would be changed. Hi Tony, Thanks for all your effort trying to reproduce my problem. So, all what you did is fine, now, please open the report using a ReportViewer embed in a web page. I'm not sure whether ReportViewer has a recent version but I'm using the one installed by Visual Studio 2008 and I think SP1 is also installed for VS2008. Let me know how it goes for you. I appreciate it much your help! John

Hi Leo, Sorry for delay. I can reproduce the issue by using the ReportViewer control in Visual Studio 2008. However, I also found this issue is fixed in ReportViewer 2010. So, in order to display the correct font size in your web application, please try use the ReportViewer 2010 in Visual Studio 2008. For detailed about using ReportViewer 2010 in Visual Studio 2008 project, please refer to http://blogs.msdn.com/b/changliw/archive/2010/06/29/use-the-reportviewer-2010-control-in-visual-studio-2008-project.aspx We appriciate your understanding. If you have any question, please feel free to ask. See http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/584104/wrong-font-size-in-reportviewer-control-anchor-text. We've fixed this bug for SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1. In the meanwhile, there are a couple of workarounds in the Connect bug.Program Manager, SQL Server Reporting Services
