Hi I think we cannot specifically resize the width of the bar but by resizing the width of the bar chart make help to some extent. Select the bar chart control in design layout Press F4 Properties window will open Expand 'Size' under Layout categoryin properties window Now you can see Width and Heigth properties Enter the required values for the width and height

Mani,I was looking for a solution for this, too, mostly because I didn't want a chart to have an enormous bar filling the chart if there was only one bar on it. I found that if you go into the chart properties, into X Axis, and turn on "Side Margins" you won't get that ridiculously filled chart. It chops it down to a normal-looking bar width.

rsims, Replying, just incase it is useful to anyone still searching for a solution In SSRS 2008 to increase or decrease the bar(s) width in a a bar chart dynamically 1) Click on the bar area on the chart or from the property window select the Chart Series properties 2) In Cutom Properties select point width and set PointWidth property to 0.3 for charts having just one bar or for dynamically resizing use something on the lines of the following example where if the # of bars is less than 3 then set the size to 0.2 else set it to 1.98. (You may have to find the best pointwidth by trial and error) e.g pointwidth = IIF(CInt(CountDistinct(Fields!LocationName.Value,"DataSet1"))< 3,.3,1.98) Thanks, Anish
