Importing External Certificates with FIM
Hi .. i already posted a senario where i have an old CLM and CA implementation ( CLM01 and CA01) and i got my reason to migrate to FIM 2010 CM on another server (FIM02) and a new win 2008 R2 CA ( CA02) . - The new FIM CM server is fresh installation , no one is enrolled form it yet - i exported a user (username :John ) encryption certificate form the old CA (CA01) to an pfx - I followed the steps here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff602882(WS.10).aspx and i could import the certificate on the FIM . At least the certutil command finished successfully. -Now i went to my new CA02 , and i found John certificate that i imported to the FIM under (External Certificates) - i went to my FIM , and i searched for (John ) , and the FIM gave me (Object reference not set to an instance of an object.). - Then i searched for the certificate i imported by serial number on the FIM , and it is there .I can see it . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now , i can see that the certificate for John is imported to the FIM but it is not associated with a user , as when i go to FIM (Find a user to manage their information) and i searched for John , i dont get a result , while searching the serial number of the certificate , gives me the certificate info i imported. So , now i need to enroll John a certificate from the FIM and i want FIM to automatiically include the imported certificate as external certificate . So am i on track till now ? ammarhasayen
