Import of file created with stsadm to a new server failed.
The SQL server has had some updates made, but the SharePoint site collection has not loaded. The command prompt gave the following message: “The site collection could not be restored. If this problem persists, please make sure the content databases are available and have sufficient free space.” We have checked both servers and should have sufficient memory. Not sure whether to try rerunning the file - but it took almost 3 hours before message appeared - or if the fault could be elsewhere and the message misleading. Has anyone else encountered issues? Our original servers are loaded with SQL2005, Windows 2003, WSS 3.0 SP1. The export file was created here. The servers we are trying to load to have SQL2008, Windows 2008, WSS 3.0 SP2

It's always good practice to make sure that both servers are at the same level. Why don't you upgrade your original server to WSS 3.0 SP2 (preferably with the same fixes since if any) and then try this again. 2010 Books: SPF 2010; SPS 2010; SPD 2010; InfoPath 2010; Workflow etc. 2007 Books: WSS 3.0; MOSS 2007; SPD 2007; InfoPath 2007; PerformancePoint; SSRS; Workflow Both lists also include books in French; German; Spanish with even more languages in the 2007 list.

We have not yet made upgrades to our orignial server, as we tried the load a second time and doing the same action it worked. However there are certain .aspx pages that do not appear to have transferred (although names are listed on SP Designer, but cannot be opened there). In addtion we appear to have lost the link between SP and AD, even though the test server has been created with identical domain names and AD users. Does anyone have any insight into either of these issues?
