Import Website Into Sharepoint
Hi There, I have a static HTML website that I was hoping to bring into my companies intranet as a subsite to sharepoint. I was wondering is it possible to A) import the website and b) keep the same look and feel. I know there is an import website wizard with 2010 but is this just for importing other sharepoint websites? Not that plain html type that I have? Or, is the answer that I cannot import my website to sharepoint. My only option then would be to build it from scratch within Sharepoint... or just dump the page into the existing parent template. Thanks for your help.

Hi, There is as you say, no built in mechanism for importing a static site into SharePoint. There is however a 3rd party tool from Metalogix that you may wish to consider. http://www.metalogix.com/products/migration-manager-for-sharepoint/website-edition.aspx Note I don't work for these guys but I have used the tool before and found it useful for such scenarios. Hope this helps AmandaAmanda Perran (Murphy) | Weblog: blog.funknstyle.com | Twitter: twitter.com/amandaperran

> I know there is animport website wizard with 2010 Does this mean that you are asking about SharePoint **2010** If so you are off-topic in a pre-SP 2010 forum. Let me know by reply and I will move the thread if necessary. You don't mean Intranet factory do you? http://intranetfactory.com/Products/63-sharepoint-factory-download.aspx It's a feature that allows you to model a site structure, which can later be imported into whichever SharePoint version you have. I;m not aware of any other utility that imports sites beyond the Metalogix tool.Steven Andrews | SharePoint Professional | http://www.twitter.com/backpackerd00d | https://baron72.wordpress.com/

there is no mechanism available in sharepoint to import directly a html based website and create a corresponding website. either you have to create the same site in sharepoint from scratch or use third party tool. ullasjoshi
