Impact on Timer Job frequency Changes

In SharePoint 2010 environment, We have created the retention rules based on custom data fields, however they are not triggering due to the below mentioned OOTB Timer Jobs are scheduled to run weekly once. We are planning to change the schedule of these timer jobs to run daily instead of weekly -

  • Expiration Policy
  • Information Management Policy

Questions:

1) Seeking your guidance to know more about impact on the current farm - SharePoint 2010

2) Also, we would like to know whether we'll be having the ability to change timer job frequency, if we move to SharePoint 2013 (Office 365) in future

Thanks & Regards,

Sajal

You'll have to measure the impact on your own. There are too many variables to tell you whether or not this will be a large impact to your farm. You do not have any control over O365 and when timer jobs run.
