Image directly from USB Key
We are looking to migrate out image from MDT 2010 to SCCM 2007. What we are looking to do is be able to use our current windows xp image or our new windows 7 image. The goal is to be able to install the entire image from the USB Key. Is this easily done with SCCM? Is this possible. I have setup the ability to PXE boot but due to network speeds I have been asked to get this to run right from a USB key."You can't fix stupid!"

The applicable choice for what you've described is called Stand-alone media: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632784.aspx.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

as Jason says use standalone media, and you can use a USB key, but keep in mind that they get quite expensive as you go up in size ( 64gb and higher), you cannot use USB hard discs unfortunately as they are not supported as a method of standalone media., cheers niall My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady
