I messed up with Windows 10 Pro product key and seriously need help!

I bought Windows 10 Pro from amazon.com. What i thought i bought was for use with 2 PCs but clearly that wasn't the case.

i found out the hard way when i installed Windows 10 Pro on one PC and the other, which was running on Windows Home Edition, (updated from Windows 8.1 for free) i stupidly changed the product key to the Windows 10 pro one and now i can't activate the damn thing nor do i know the Windows 10 Home Edition product key that was on there previously and i really don't know what to do now.

Can anyone help me?

Did you try using the Windows 8.1 key code for the Windows Home Edition?

problem is  that it comes built in no disc i can do a factory restore but i really DO NOT want to do that because i have to transfer all my files redownload some programs then have to search for the product keys for those programs it took me all day last time. and i don't see why i have to do all this over again i have enough information to prove that i am who i say i am so they can email me a new product key. problem is that i can't get through to the right damn department. if i could email tech support.

Do you have a way to image that hard drive? If you do, and have a spare hard drive, maybe image that drive and factory restore one, download a program to get the key code from it and then put the other drive in and enter your key code. I know it's work, but it's a way to get your Windows 8.1 key code and maybe not start over again.

how would i image the hard drive? i have 1tb secondary hard drive... funny thing was the first time i install windows 10 home edition it crash and i had to restore factory default and that was a real pain i lost some precious files and programs and i just don't want to do that again... i rather wait until i get pay at the end of the month and buy another product key than have deal with the pain of going back to 8 to get back 10 thats why im hoping that microsoft just give me a bloody key but i didn't even get a confirmation that they receive my email....

what if i try to install windows 10 home edition and use my original product key that i had before this shit happened will it work?

I'm finding it so hard to contain my anger because if the product key is valid only on one pc it should verify that and fail! when i attempted to change the product key instead it accepted the product key upgraded from home to pro then it couldn't be activated... can anyone see how stupid that is?

anyhow i just finish installing windows 10 home on flash drive im gonna try booting it and updating from pro to home and use the home product key that i obtain using that script trick in notepad or wordpad

Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
MsgBox ConvertToKey(WshShell.RegRead("HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\DigitalProductId"))

Function ConvertToKey(Key)
Const KeyOffset = 52
i = 28
Chars = "BCDFGHJKMPQRTVWXY2346789"
Do
Cur = 0
x = 14
Do
Cur = Cur * 256
Cur = Key(x + KeyOffset) + Cur
Key(x + KeyOffset) = (Cur \ 24) And 255
Cur = Cur Mod 24
x = x -1
Loop While x >= 0
i = i -1
KeyOutput = Mid(Chars, Cur + 1, 1) & KeyOutput
If (((29 - i) Mod 6) = 0) And (i <> -1) Then
i = i -1
KeyOutput = "-" & KeyOutput
End If
Loop While i >= 0
ConvertToKey = KeyOutput
End Function

then save as productkey.vbs on desktop or document

and i save the product key as and image on my cell phone *sigh* if i hadnt done this i guess i would be even worst off... well moment of truth i'll message you guys back with the out come.

Rennikz_

Would you mind to let me confirm your current situation?

You have 2 PCs:

1. PC1 is clean installed with Windows 10 Pro bough from Amazon.

2. PC2 is upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 for free.

Would you please let me know what's OS running on PC2, Windows 10 pro or Windows 10 Home?

For your current issue, the activation will fail on PC1, That should be the key issue:

Please first try this slui 04 to activation via Phone.  If still fail, contact activation center to make sure the key is genuine.

For PC2, generally speaking, if you free upgrade to Windows 10, we don't need to enter the product key, your PC should be activated successfully after upgrading. If failed, you may have to revert back to previous system under PC settings ->Update & Security -> Recovery -> Revert to Windows 8.1 should there for you to do this.
