I have 3 questions:
max num of columns ssrs suports ? max num of dril down reports ? Max number of parameters ?

Hi SSIS Novice, Interesting Questions, but I must say, AFAIK there are no exact answers to these... Firstly, I feel that max number of columns in SSRS is determined by the amount of memory you have on the machine... Beyond a certain limit, your report either throws an error (out of memory exception mostly) or the development studio just gives up and crashes. I know of reports that have had 150+ columns, and they ran fine... I did a quick test to see how much of load an SSRS report could withstand. I generated a dataset with about 10,000 records (an ID and a Random Text field), then created a drill down report on the ID column. I noticed that I could go up to 2000 levels of drill down with no problems at all, but then I started noticing issues. When I went anywhere beyond 2000, the page size started to come into picture. With me trying to display all drill downs on a single page, my BIDS would just crash, but then when I started paginating the rows, it worked much better. What I am trying to say is that you do not have a finite number that dictates the max limits of the aspects you are looking for (max number of drill downs, max number of params, etc.). There are other factors that would decide these implicitly such as the memory you have, the way you have setup your report (paginated, single page, etc.), the kind of data you are displaying on your report (spatial, text, etc.). As a best practice, just remember that if you think you are building a report that is starting to crash your dev. studio or you are experiencing too much lag in rendering the report on a browser, it's time to rethink your strategy. Please feel free to let me know if you think otherwise.. HTH. Cheers, IceQB Please mark correct answers :)
