ILM2 MA
Hi,I was of the impression that any user or a group that gets created in the ILM2 portal automatically gets synched to the MV. I dont see that behaviour in my implementation of ILM2. Am I missing something? Do I need to run any particular scheduled tasks for this behaviour?Manually running the import and sych run profiles is less than ideal. Thanks in advance,Jameel

Followthe instructions on ILM "2" (Release Candidate) Introduction to Inbound SynchronizationThis document provides instructions for configuring and using ILM"2" inbound synchronization rules in a simple lab environment. ILM "2" (Release Candidate) Introduction to Outbound SynchronizationThis document provides instructions for configuring and using ILM"2" outbound synchronization rules in a simple lab environment. ILM "2" (Release Candidate) End User Distribution List ManagementThis document describes how to configure Security Groups in ILM"2" with dynamic membership. And then yes you do need to automate setting up import and syncandexport run profiles.David Lundell www.ilmBestPractices.com

David,Appreciate your help!I have followed the steps indicated in those articles. I can see the possibility of manually executing the import, sync & export run profiles in a test environment. However, in a real work scenario, do we have to execte these run profiles when ever there is any change in the MV objects.I do realize that when there is a change in the MV object, the data gets automatically synched to the CS of the ILMMA..However, these articles you have pointed out do indicate a manual execution of "Export" run profile on the ILMMA. Is there a way to simplify this? Anyautomation scripts? Thanks,Jameel

You can always script the run profiles you created and run those scripts scheduled. If you want to go one step further, you could check (using WMI) if there are any pending exports before running the run profile.Paul Loonen (Avanade)

Thanks Paul.I was hoping for an out of the box solution. I am currently evaluating some of the tools which are packagedwith theMIIS 2003 resource kit which will help with such automated tasks. However, I am not sure if these are compatible with the ILM2 editions of the product.Has anybody tried it?Thanks,Jameel
