Hi Santosh! You will have to install the Oracle client on your ILM server. You will also have to give the account running miisserver.exe modify permission on the folder where the Oracle client is installed.//HenrikHenrik Nilsson - Cortego http://blog.softconstruction.se

I believe Oracle 10 should be supported from MIIS SP2 and there are very few changes to MA's in ILM2 so I don't think that should be a poblem. This is the best resource I could find using Oracle MA hope this helps...http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc708632.aspx By the way: Have a look at the help found from inside Identity Manager, this can shed some extra light on how to set up Oracle MA.The part is called "Connect to Oracle Database" and here's a part of it...To connect to an Oracle database: In Management Agent Designer, on the Connect to Database page, in Data source, type the name of the Oracle data source connection (TNS Service Name). If this management agent performs a full import of data from a table or view, in Table/View, type the table or view name. If this management agent performs a delta import of data from a specially configured view, in Delta View, type the name of the table or view. If this management agent will perform import and export of multi-value attributes from a specially configured table, in Multi-value table, type the name of the table. In Authentication mode, select Database authentication or Windows integrated authentication, and then type a user account, password, and logon domain. In addition to Henrik's hints, you'll find practical help in these posts:- Configure Management Agent for Oracle Database in MIIS 2003(... "trying to create a Management Agent for Oracle database(10g) "...)- ODBC and TNS Service Name Help PleaseFor the Oracle MA there are some distinct prerequisites that must be met... When you install the client.. make sure you install the admin piece.. not the regular client..Even with MIIS SP1 Oracle 10i worked.. just certain attribute types didn't work.... So you should be able to connect to it...JoeJoe Stepongzi - Identity Management Consultant - ILM MVP - www.microsoftIdM.com,ilmXframework.codeplex.com

In that case there is problem withOraclelike network or access and that is not the target for this forum but I would start testing the network connectivity to the oracle server with 'telnet server 1521' and if that works make sure your oracle credentials are ok.//HenrikHenrik Nilsson Blog: http://www.idmcrisis.com Company: Cortego (http://www.cortego.se)

Hi Everyone,I have the same problem with the Oracle client (10g) on a ILM2 server. After reading this post and following the help documentation I still get this error when trying to configure an Oracle MA: Unable to locate required client software. For more information about specific requirements for synchronizing with this connected data source, see Identity Lifecycle Manager Help. These are the installation steps I followed when installing the Oracle client: 1. Installed the Oracle client with the Administrator option 2. Configured a Local Naming from the setup testing configuration successful (testing using SQL Plus after installation also successful) 3. ILMsync account Full Control on the Oracle root install folder (even added the account to the local administrators group) Any suggestions? PS. I configured an Oracle MA several times before on an ILM 2007 server without any problem. Thank you,Toni

Have you restarted the ILM Service or rebooted the box. When you add the permissions for the service account, one or the other needs to be recycled.Tnsping also is a big help to check if you can access the Oracle instance.. Also make sure you have the tnsnames file setup.Have you tried reinstalling the ORacle CLient?HTH,JoeJoe Stepongzi - Identity Management Consultant - ILM MVP - www.microsoftIdM.com,ilmXframework.codeplex.com

Yes I did both, first restarted the service, then the server, I reinstalled the Oracle client a few times and nothing helped. The tnsnames.ora file is correctly configured (during setup), if I remove the file I can't connect using SQL*Plus either. I notsure whether ILM can find the Oracleclient at all, no matter what I fill in the Data Source field I get the sameerror. Regards,Toni
