IIS for FIM service and portal
I currently have both FIM Service and Portal on the same server.If FIM Service and Portal ran on two separate servers is IIS service needed on both servers? I know FIM Portal will need IIS. But then does FIM Service need its own IIS on the portal server?Thanks.

The FIM Service is a Windows Service with WCF endpoints and does not depend on IIS. Only the FIM Portal and FIM CM Portal require IIS.

The FIM Service software requirements in the Installation Guide have been updated to clarify.The previous version made the assumption that the FIM Portal and FIM Service were being installed on the same server, and therefore IIS7 was required.
