IE 11 - Sharepoint open in windows explorer not working

In my IE 11 - Sharepoint open in windows explorer don't work.

It appear always error message "Your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer"

Already installed FIX ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2846960)

Restart laptop

Then Sign in to the SharePoint Online site with Keep me signed in option

But still dont work.

This happens in all libraries. This issue happens in our corporate intranet. I had this issue in another laptops but with the Microsoft FIX and following all that steps, it solved.

But for whatever reason now i have 2 machines that even after applying the same Fix and steps still continues not working.

I just checked it out, and msie 11 does allow me to open windows explorer. Did you try uninstall and then re-install the MS Desktop Experience on a client?

Hi I am not the sharepoint admin, but they say that from there side is everything OK.

So I am trying to find out how to get this solved. I in a couple of them I was able to solve following that MS Hotfix.

But now in this 2 machines don't work.

Any idea?

Hi,

From your description, my understanding is that you cannot use open with explorer in 2 machines in your farm.

If you have installed Desktop Experience feature in your environment, please add your SharePoint Server(http://spserver) to Local intranet site with steps below:

  1. Open Internet Options menu.
  2. Click Security tab.
  3. Click Sites.
  4. Click Advance.
  5. Enter your SharePoint Server, click Add.
  6. Close and apply.
  7. Restart your browser, and test your issue.

HI,IE11 is having some compatibility issues with the share point.Please try to access the site in IE10 compatible mode and check the issue.please find the link below that explains more details of the issue.


1.    Since SharePoint 2013 fully support IE 32-bit version above 7, there might be compatibility issue with other browsers. Id recommend you use IE 8,9,10 32-bit for optimal Performance.
2.    Open the same document library in Internet Explorer as this functions does not work with Firefox or Chrome by default
3.    Make sure the IE (Internet Explorer) Version should be 32-bit and not a 64-bit

Try running an Office Repair.  Sometimes it clears up issues like these.

check that the Windows Service WebClient on your Client Machine is running.
