In your TS did you add a step Install Software update.

Depending on the update group you made

Mandatory Software Updates = This option will install all updates deployed to the computer as required.

All Software Updates = this option will install all Software Updates that are deployed to the computer as Available

If you are using unknown computer will you need to deploy the software update to the unknown collection. If you are using collection for your TS you will need to deploy it to that collection

Hi,

I am using All software updates. I deployed on both collection (unknown and a particular one for that computer). But I am running the B&C with a F12.

The deployment is set as Required.

Hi,

I add a step in my TS to add the hotfixes before running software updates and IE11 is just not installing.

Follow the guide here :

http://prajwaldesai.com/deploy-internet-explorer-11-using-sccm-2012-r2/

or this one

You could simply as well back it in your gold image

Hi,

Shame on me! Sp1 was not install on computer. I believe this is my core problem. Is it a way to offline servicing SP1 into my image?

No. Why in the world are you not using media with SP1 already integrated? You need to go download it now and burn, delete, purge, eradicate, and forget about any non-SP1 integrated media that you have.

This also explains your other forum post with 500+ updates needing to be installed.

We deploy IE11 via updates for machines that had older and now need to be current. I know its not viewed as best practice sometimes but we captured IE11 in a new WIM. this way you can get out of the complexities of using a installer in the TS. We found that a lot of machines would fail the install during the TS.

You can use DISM to add the SP1 to the image. Download the update manually and you will be able to add it. (follow this procedure https://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/windowsserver/en-US/e73a4072-ed9a-4a46-bcac-ea52dc4ab68b/add-windows-7-sp1-to-exisitng-windows-7-image)

But like Jason said please make a new gold image using the last windows 7 media

July 28th, 2015 10:13am

HI,

What do you mean by a new gold image? I am using the install.wim and then patch it with offline servicing. Or you mean using install.wim and then apply SP1 and post Sp1 fix?

July 28th, 2015 10:16am

Well if you are using the install.wim just download the new lattes windows 7 version form your VLS (or other mean)and use that install.wim. This will make your windows come with windows 7 SP1 .

Gold is a term that refer the image you are deploying to your workstation.

July 28th, 2015 10:20am

Use a new install.wim from the media that you download from Microsoft that has SP1 already integrated.

It makes zero sense to try to integrate it yourself and will add at least an hour to your deployment -- I'm not even sure if it's supported to do this though and its simply a bad idea to do so.
