ICMP ECHO request from Primary to Central server
Hi We are getting ICMP echo request from Primary SCCM server to Central server which is getting blocked at Firewall level. i installed Netmon in one of the primary server to check the echo details but netmon is capturing the details but the Process name is blank. can you guide me to know why the Primary server is sending the ICMP request to Central. my central and primary is in 2003 OSThanks Shankar K

I never heard about that. I don't think that ConfigMgr ia responsible for those ICMP packets (unless you installed R2's client status reporting tool that would ping resources).Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

this has been resolved its the default charecter of 2003 before performing SMB its pinging the destination. but in 2008 OS this option is disabled. Thanks Shankar K
