Hunting down a strange Office 2010 / SharePoint 2007 interaction
we have SharePoint 2007 sp1 installed and users are beginning to get Office 2010 on their desktops. Last week, a user reported running into a problem. On their SharePoint site, in at least two of the document libraries, the user tried to create a new document. When he did so, he got a panel which said at the top that it was an informational message, and that "The Document Information Panel was unable to load." He went on and created the document, and opening it later didn't seem to generate this message. This is a vanilla document library - nothing infopath related, no special document types. It doesn't look, to me, like there is even any extra columns of metadata added. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm awaiting a call back from the user to confirm that word 2010 on the desktop without sharepoint works fine, but I suspect it does. When I try the same library (I have to be a SharePoint admin to do that), I see the same problem when I open a new word document. I don't see the problem on some other SharePoint sites that I have tried or on my desktop.
