How to use oracle 10g package as a datasource for sql server reporting services 2008 r2
The only information I can find online is regarding SSIS packages. I an converting a Crystal Report XI to SSRS. The report calls an Oracle package and has 8 sub-reports. I need to know if SSRS Reporting Services 1008 R2 can call an Oracle package to populate the dataset. The only Oracle information I am finding is calling procedures not a package. BTW the package runs successfully in the query window pane but does not return a dataset.

This post I trust mostly belongs to the SSRS Forum, not SSIS. A procedure in Oracle is always part of a package, e.g. OraPackage.OraProc, to return a dataset in Oracle you need to use special handles/pointers to data, output variables, recognizable by the ADO or OLDEB datatypes. PS: It must be of type ref_cursor, here is some more light on what I am talking about: http://mcaf.ee/7x2sc Arthur My Blog
