How to upload new wordtemplate to contenttype using Powershell ?

Hi,

is it possible to assign/upload wordtemplates to Sharepoint contenttypes via Powershell ? The contenttypes already have wordtemplates attached and I want to replace them with new templates.

Doing this manually is very timeconsuming.

Can someone help ?

thanks

Sven

You can import and export content types with PowerShell, here is a link to do that.

Here is also a post which change the content type set on files in SharePoint using powershell.

I hope this helps,

Thanks for your post, but actually that was not what I asked for. I know how to add contenttypes using Powershell. the question is how to upload a document template into Sharepoint.

That is what you ususally would do with the "module" element of a feature deployment

the question is.. how to upload a documenttemplate using powershell ?

Hi Sven,

Did you have any success with this? I'm able to set and upload new blank templates to content types, but the templates don't appear to be associated *with* the content type. Therefore, when i click 'New Budget Document', the DIP doesn't display and upon save, i'm asked by word to choose the content type for my new file. I need to somehow embed the content type id in the .dotx file.

Am also facing the same issue... I am unable to get the template associate with the content type.
