Hi All, I have few documents in my document library.Few users in the "created by" field do not exist in AD anymore.so the people picker doesnt work.Is there a way to update the "created by" field , with "SPUser" object using code, eventhough the user no more exists in AD? Any suggestions to overcome this problem is much appreciated.Hanif

You may have to have their ID recreated in AD to be able to overcome this. The ID can be locked so it can't be used, but needs to exist in order to be used in this way. The other option you have is to move all of the user in question's content ownership over to a new user using the MIGRATEUSER switch in STSADM.
