How to type a URL for the site collection of a SharePoint Web application?
When creating a site collection, I clicked "Create site collection" in the SharePoint Site Management section of the Application Management page. After selecting a Web Application, in the Web Site Address section of Create Site Collection page, an address of http://HostHeader/sites followed by a textbox was displayed. My question is how can I change or delete the 'sites'? I had only one line with the "site". Why?

Thanks. I have clicked "Define Managed Paths" to create another Managed Path, other than "sites", for a new site collection with a top-level site. Also I think I figured out why there was no http://HostHeader/ URL. The reason is I already had a ROOT top-level site collection for my web application.
