How to stop SharePoint from redirecting to /my/Person.aspx site collections
I am working on SharePoint server 2013 community site. Currently inside my members section for the community site, if I click on some members I will be redirected to their userdisp.aspx which will show full details about them , which is what I need. But
clicking on others users will redirect to URL such as
http:// gvstg01/my/Person.aspx?accountname=i, and for many users I will het Page not found error.
So I have the following two questions:-
- What control where SharePoint will be redirecting?
- Is there a way to stop redirecting to the "../my/person.aspx" , even if the member have created a personal site?
Thanks

On your UPA Service Application, under Setup MySites, this is the URL specified for the My Site Host. I'd recommend making it something that all users can access at all times.

You should only be putting a MySite Host (this is a type of Site Template) in the URL, and only the path to the MySite Host (e.g. http://...:40708

The redirection isn't to the personal site (e.g. the site with content), but rather a page built by the UPA that end users cannot delete. You can't perform the redirection the way you're asking.

Don't confuse a personal site (the site that holds Personal and Shared Documents) with person.aspx. Person.aspx cannot be deleted and is not part of the user's My Site, it is a core file on the file system. If you're getting 404s, this is going
to be an issue with DNS, IIS Site Bindings, Alternate Access Mappings, or a misconfigured My Site Host/My Site Host path.

The first link is to the built-in (to each Site Collection) User Information List. The second link is to a My Site host. Can you first validate that you're able to reach http://gvstg01/my/person.aspx (this should bring you to your profile)?
If so, have you done any domain/user migrations recently, or converted the Web Application at http;//gvstg01 from Classic to Claims?

Yes, that means your My Site Host either doesn't exist, or is invalid. If http://gvstg01/my does exist as a My Site Host, try deleting the Site Collection and re-creating it using the My Site Host template.
