Hello I have an excel document where I want to import data from another excel document which is located in a sharepoint document library. When I create a connection to this Http:// ... xls file , the datasource points to a document download in my Temporary Internet Files\Content.MSO folder. This is problematic when somebody else want to update the excel document and refresh the data. What is the best approach ? Excel 2007 Sharepoint 12.0

Hi, First of all I would like you to explain what is this sharepoint 12? Are you refering Sharepoint 2007 or 2010? From the description you have provided it seems that you have following requirement. 1. You have an excel1 in doclibrary1. 2. You have a doclibrary2 so when someone uploads any document in doclibrary2 it sould get some data from excel1. You can carry this out in multiple way. I would suggest this. 1. Create an event receiver in doclibrary1 that runs and takes data from excel1 if a new document is uploaded into doclibrary1. 2. Create an event receiver in doclibrary2 that updates all documents in doclibrary1 if anything gets updated in excel1. I hope this will help you out. Thanks, Rahul Rashu
