How to send email to people in a list?
I have a SharePoint list of people. One of the columns is their email address. These people are not members of a SharePoint group. Is there someway to send an email to everyone on the list? I don't believe a custom workflow is the
answer because the periodic emails would be different each time. We are on MOSS 2007, but have Outlook 2010. Custom coding is not an option here, unless it is in Designer. There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what you're are trying to accomplish.

Hi,
it is possible to push alerts to users. Read this forum topic, the answer bismark gave is pretty important :-)

Here's the small quote from that Bismark comment that I think sander_d is refering to
"I did force alerts on some team members and was surprised to discover they either went back into SharePoint and removed the alert entirely or had created rules in Outlook to get rid of the alert. "
Moderator Note: Quoting this amount of text from a long reply in a thread is OK under "reasonable use" rules. So next time I suggest refering to this thread and to Bismark's reply as you to and then saying something like "this is one of the key points
he makes" + quote.SP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links):

I must not have made myself clear. I'm not talking about alerts. I'm talking about writing an email where the text in the body of the email would be unique with each sending. Perhaps I'm looking for some connection to Outlook that would
grab the email addresses of the people in the SP list. There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what you're are trying to accomplish.

Hi,
well I think you made yourself clear - the provided solution wasn't what you needed :-)
I currently haven't got a working moss environment so I cannot test but you can connect a list to outlook see this link:
http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/howdoi/how-do-i-sync-sharepoint-lists-with-outlook-2007/158
BUT maybe this is a more pragmatic way
Why not just view the list in DataView mode (or what's it called) select all email addresses (like you would in Excel), press CTRL + C (copy) and... in Outlook create a new email and paste the address in the TO, CC or BCC field :-)
