How to send an email notification any time a user try to use SSPR
Hi: I need to send an Email any time a user try to use the Self-Service Reset Password Service. The recipients of the email must be the user himself, and the HelpDeskp Manager, and the content must be the Date and Time of the action and the result (succedeed or failed). Any help will be highly appreciated

Well.. after adquiring some experience... the solution was simple.. just read the documentation: - Go to FIMPortal IdentityManagement - Go to Administration - Go to Workflows - Go to Password Reset Action Workflow - Go to Activities - Go to Add Activity - In Activity Picker ... choose Notification and then select - In the recipients write the email address of the recipients you want to send the mail (I do not know how to add the current user yet)... I tried to add //Target/ExplicitMember, but failed. - In Email Template, select an existing Template prepared previously. - Save, OK, SubmitAlejandro

Alejanrdo, here I have an example of sending a notification to a user. Not in your context, but it should be similiar (step 13): http://setspn.blogspot.com/2010/10/fim-send-password-expiration.html I think you can just ue //Target in the recipients part of the Workflow definition. Thanks Thomas! This is exactly another requeriment in our project! email expiration notifications! Can you give us some additional help to implement this step: How to Create a rules extension (custom Import Attribute Flow) for the AD MA..... and finally have the extension: IAFupdatePwdLastSet available in ADMA. (The code is OK, you don´t need to explain what it does). Any link will be highly appreciated Regards AlejandroAlejandro

Here is a link for MIIS 2003: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc720667(WS.10).aspx But the principle should be almost identicall for FIM 2010. Regarding the email expiration notifications: keep in mind that my suggested method does not take fine-grained password policies into account! This was pointed out by Jorge in the thread referenced in my blog article There are probably various ways of working around this. I haven't got the time yet + the question to work this out though Good luck!http://setspn.blogspot.com
