How to save Office documents, spreadsheets to Sharepoint library when creating from new, from within Word or Excel or PPT, tc.
If I create a new WORD document, for example, how do I save it directly to the desired library, without any intermediate stops along the way. I know how to upload an existing document to a particular SP library from within the library. How do I save a new document directly to the desired library from within Word, or Excel, or PPT, to name a few.

From within SharePoint, generate your document the ´New ...´command, and the default save location will be that library. On the client machine, if you generate an Office document from new, the shortest route I´ve found is to save the desired library as a desktop favourite, click one, then save. http://www.final-exodus.net

Hi Wayne, You could also map the sharepoint document library as shared drive. hth,-- techChirag

I figured this out a few hours after posing the question. It should be more easily apparent than it is to the user in my opinion.

> I figured this out a few hours after posing the question. Does this mean that you are not only wsquared you are also Wayne W ? Please log in as the same person in the same threads at least. Then you could have marked the post directly as an answer and I could have then locked the thread. Now I don't know if the OP is satisfied that his question has been answered or not as *he* hasn't said so. One and the same. I would have logged in as the same person, had the forum allowed me to. I changed email recently and that seems to have utterly confounded some portion of the forum system software.
