How to reset applications in Software Center

Sorry in advance if I don't use the proper terminology. I'm a user. I hope I posted this in the correct forum.

My laptop has system center 2012 R2, which is used by IT to facilitate installation of applications on user systems. When my new laptop was configured, several applications were pushed. Later, for some reason, they showed up as available for installation, so I allowed them to install. Later, I noticed that some of these applications appeared in the software center as being installed twice. I tried to remove the duplicates, but they are still there. Also, a couple of other applications that I installed from the software center are now doing the same thing. One of the applications had a self-update, which I accepted. Now the software center is trying to reinstall the old version. Is there a way to remove these applications out of the software center so I can install them manually? I found a some info elsewhere that referred to clearing the cache, which I tried. It made no difference.
