How to provide default username and Password to a sharePoint site?
Hi
I have two uestion about SharePoint username /pssword.
I am using WSS and their username/password are linked to active directory.
1) Is anonymous access given to a particular site , on that site can peope can add /edit list or survey items?
2) If answer to question 1) is NO then how do I add DEFAULT username and Password for particular site so that pople do not have to provide it when they go to site. Is that possible in sharepoint?

Anonymous access is a web application configuration.
You can create two web apps. You already have one. Create a second web app by extending the first.
Assign two different URLs to the web apps and you should get the single sign on experience.
That's the basic approach.--Paul Galvin, Computer Generated Solutions (CGS)

Hi Paul
I have anonymous ACCESS enabled in SiteCollection. And in subsite that feature is disabled , so I amnot able to change OPtion there to allow EDIT option. Any idea why that option is disabled in subsite?
And about "Assign two different URLs to the web apps and you should get the single sign on experience. That's the basic approach." I do not get it.
I want to EDIT/ADD/Delete a Survey /List items by Anonymous user.

Hi Jay033,
The answer for the first question depends on how you configure the anonymous access. If you have enabled anonymous access on a site, you can also enable anonymous
access on the survey list that is using unique permissions. When you do this, you can select the following options:
·
Add items
·
Edit items
·
Delete items
·
View items
This settings menu is not available on the Permissions page if your list or library is inheriting permissions from its parent site.
The subsites inherit permission from its parent, so you encounter the following issue. You can break the inheritance from its parents, then check the effect.
I have anonymous ACCESS enabled in SiteCollection. And in subsite that feature is disabled

Hi Rock Wang,
My issue is resolved By doing
-- I created new subsite , and while creating it , for permission, it ask to choose Inheritance from parent site or create unique permission. at this time I select - unique permission. By doing so , it allowed to select Anynyous access
for my survey - and all options for Edit /Delete /View were enabled. Now Anynyous user can ADD new items in survey.
-- About prevous non working site , when I created I selected option - permission inherited from parent site. and not sure what went wrong that my anonymous user options were disabled . I had no way to enbled it , i tried all the options that sharepoint
gives. unless I do not know something.
Thanks all
Jay
