Thanks Mina and Kris, Both MS SQL 2005 and windows internal db services are running in domain user (domain\administrator). The user has full access in remote storage drive and dbo roles in all databases.. But still i am getting the same error "SQL Server service account and the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE service account do not have permission to read or write to the backup folder.". Mina is correct. the Windows Internal DB by default is set to NT Auth\Network Service and you'll need to change that service account in the Windows Control Panel ->Administration -> Service to a domain account with dbo rights on the traget db. How do i perform full and differential backup in remote storage device. I am getting failure message like "SQL Server service account and the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE service account do not have permission to read or write to the backup folder." I have moved content database from internal database to MS SQL 2005, however Sharepoint_adminContent, sharepoint_confi and wss_search databases are still in internal database. WSS is running in one of the DCs and domain users have access to remote storage device.

Hi Pauzan, you can try to login with this account and try to access your share \\server\sharefolder and check whether you have access or not.

Yes, the account has full access in shared folder. I can perform copy, paste and delete in the shared folder with this account. I think the problem is with NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE account. I wonder why this account is used for backup.
