How to move SSP database?
Hi, I need to move the SSP databases in the same farm, I will just move the mdf-ldf files to another SQL server. I already moved the SSP Web application's content database by - remove contetn database from Central Admin -detach on the old db server -attach to new db server - add content database in Central admin But there are two other databases called: SSP_Content and SSP_Search.. And I dont know how to move them because I cant find where to remove and add this databases in Central Administration. how to move them? I found some post on net offering "stsadm -o editssp" but i cant find how to change the search and ssp db servers with this command. P.S: I dont consider creating a new SSP because this one has a lot of customizations on it, lots of metadata property mappings etc. I have to use it.. Thanks in advance Ceren

No this does not include the information I need.. I need to move only the ssp search and ssp databases, without shutting down sharepoint WFE's or stopping the farm

Hi, Try “stsadm –o restoressp” command: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262163(office.12).aspx Or you can go to central administration > application management > office SharePoint server shared services > create or configure this farm’s shared services > restore ssp in the menu bar. Also, refer to this article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc896556(office.12).aspx Note: make sure back up your farm before doing this try. Hope it is helpful! Seven
