How to map a SharePoint document library as a shared drive.
Group,I know this has been asked before so I apologize up front for asking again.I need to map a SharePoint library so I can automate weekly report uploads. When I try mapping with net use p: http://appsite/mysite/my_library I receive the following error, "System error 2 has occurred." Anyone know how to fix that?If it helps, I'm running MOSS 2007 Enterprise with front end on Server 2003 R2 w/SP2 and DB on another 2003 box with SQL Server 2008 Standard.Thank you.Jason

I should also say that I can open the URL from within IE (File --> Open) without error.

Ok...a couple more questions. 1. Have you tried mapping the drive from windows explorer instead of the command line? 2. What operating system are you trying to map the drive on?3. Have you check that the WebClient service is running on your machine you are trying to map the drive on?

Paul,1. If I type that URL into explorer it opens in IE. If I try to type it as a UNC path I get a message saying Windows cannot find it.2. Windows XP SP33. Webclient service is running.Jason

Ok, and if you browse to your document library in IE and select "Open with Windows Explorer" from the actions menu, what happens?

It opens in an explorer window with the same URL I'm trying to map.

Paul,I sent us both on a wild goose chase. It turned out we have URLScan installed on that box and it was blocking the connection. Thanks again for your help, though. It's appreciated.Jason
