Currently, when I click on any part of my sharepoint list, entire list will be focused, and the "new item" ribbon will appear on the top ribbon. Is there a way to make the list not clickable? Thank you!

I don't think it is feasible. Rather what you can do is, you can do is you can assign lower privileges to the user, so that they don't get to do any operation with the listSundar Narasiman
