Balaji, It seems to me that your question has nothing to do with sharepoint realy. sharepoint isnt a tool for creating image-maps, it's a platform to group information and code bits. If you have an image map, just upload it to sharepoint and display it in sharepoint. You can learn how to create html image maps here: http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/imagemap.shtml http://www.webcom.com/html/tutor/imagemaps.shtml http://webdesign.about.com/cs/dreamweaver/ht/htdwimgmap.htm(how to do it with dreamweaver) http://www.snapfiles.com/get/mapedit.html(a tool to create image maps. there are a lot of them!) To display this in a sharepoint page, you can upload the html and the image to a document library (or similar) and display them using a content editor web part. Let me know if you need more help.

As two out of in total three posts that you have made propose this product, could you please state whether you have any relationship with the makers of this product. I.e. do you work for them or do you work for a company that sells this product ? As it is, your recommendations of this product are suspicious. (Message repeated in the other thread)Later: I have deleted the post by "leeji". Of twenty posts he had made, 19 recommend a product from this company and don't say much else. I have now started deleting the lot of them.

I don't have Sharepoint Designer (a corporate issues) but have been editing the plain HTML to manipulate SharePoint wikis. Here is a solution I found (and it works, though a bit time consuming) for creating the equivalent of image maps in Sharepoint:http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/blogs/GetThePoint/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=142

Hi Bala Hotspot like dreamweaver is not possible even in SharePoint designer. The only best option is to create a HTML along with your required hotspot in dreamweaver then copy the source code and paste it in a Content Editor Web part to show the same along with the image maps. Regards Balu

Regards Balu Nonsense! In SharePoint Designer 2007 it is simple. First, make sure your "picture" tool bar is on. Go to view/toolbars/pictures. Then select the image you want to have a hotspot on and select the "rectangular hotspot" and drag your hotspot over the image. It's that simple!

Clearly a user want this in the editor at hand, not revert to an external program to achieve a simple imagemap. ALso content creation and content management is difficult to make distinction on for the average business user, so make it easy on them. A well known WYSIWYG browser based editor is TinyMCE which comes with a image map plugin http://code.google.com/p/imgmap/ Built on those well established web achievements and SharePoint users may benefit as well.kind regards, Carry Megens
