Hi All I have english version of share[point custom site template and i want to install that template on Russian version of sharepoint, when I add my site template to sharepoint it is not showing my custom template in Cutom tab while installation of site from template. Can any one suggest me how can I create site from custom template when template in english version and target sharepoint in Russian version. Thanks,

Hi Outlook Developer, Logon to sharepoint server Copy your template file from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1033 and copy into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\1049 (1049 is language directiry of russian)

Install first the English Language Pack. Hi I took site template as "save site as template" from english version of sharepoint and it is in the form of wsp. I want to add this site template to russian version of sharepoint. I have successfully added to site template gallery but when i try to create site from template it is not listing my custom site. Thanks

Have you already installed the English Language Language Pack? An English language template will only be selectable in a non-English SP site if that LP is there. (Go to the Language Pack download. Select the word in the language of your browser for English then confirm. You will now get a page in English with the language pack now listed as "English". Now you do the download (and install that version)) If WSS 3.0 you need only the WSS 3.0 LP. If MOSS 2007 you need both the WSS 3.0 LP and then the MOSS 2007 LP. After you install the language pack, site owners and site collection administrators can create sites and site collections based on the language-specific site templates by specifying a language when they are creating a new site or site collection.
