How to force update a client device status ?

In my Lab environment (Hyper-V). A device had been use to test the OSD, now it show Client=Yes, Site Code=P01, Client Activity=Active

Now, I removed its vhdx and add a new vhdx in order to test the OSD again. But it show me "There are no task sequences for this computer"

I suspect this is because the device status was not update (console still show Client=Yes, Site Code=P01, Client Activity=Active)

It's just a matter of collection membership then ... Are you PXE booting? If so: examine smspxe.log in order to find out which ResourceID is being used by ConfigMgr to determine if a TS is available. This object has to be member of a collection where an OSD TS is deployed to.

You need to wait for few more minutes or update the collection membership once.

Now, I got another problem, it not show no task sequence anymore. But reboot when it at "preparing network connections".

People said this is related to the network driver in the boot image. But this is the legacy network adapter of a Hyper-V guest. Where can I find the driver for it ?

Also, the OSD was successful before. I already re-create a new task sequence, update distribution point for the boot image. What else can I do ?

I even delete the existing boot image and re-add it, still failed

A quick check, are you using a legacy NIC in Hyper-V? This is the only NIC type that supportes PXE booting and has the drivers already built i

Yes, is the legacy one. It works before. If I'm not using the legacy NIC, I even can't PXE boot.

My situation is it does successfully PXE boot. But reboot when it reach "preparing network connections"

Now I create a new guest to test. Re-import the computer to Device Collection

Still failed

No drivers are required if you are using Legacy Nic, it has the drivers already built into WinPE. I am asking you have you imported any other drivers ?

Did you deploy the task sequence to the unknown computer? If that is what you did and only remove the hard disk on the VM SCCM will not see the computer as unknown anymore until you fully remove it from SCCM console.

When ou plan to do a lot of task sequence task make a collection put the computer in it and deploy the task sequence to that collection that way you can re-image all you want without having to destroy anything.
