Is there any way to prevent a column from expanding in width in SSRS(SQL Server 2012)? Ive set the CanGrow property to true to allow the height to increase. But instead of making longer strings multi-line, the width of the column increases. The column contains URLs(no spaces). It displays correctly in the preview but not on the browser(IE9 and Firefox). Hi Deepti, In Reporting Services, the column width that we specify in the report designer doesnt work when a report is rendered into HTML format. This is by design. Based on your scenario, you can render the URLs as HTML hyperlinks. In this way, the length of the URL will be reduced and so is the column width on the HTML Viewer.
