How to find which content database the site collection is in
If you have SharePoint 2010 SP1 you don't need to do this manually. Try this: http://www.tcscblog.com/2011/06/28/restore-a-deleted-site-collection-in-sharepoint-2010-sp1/Stefan Goner Senior Escalation Engineer - Microsoft CSS This post is provided "AS IS" with no warrenties and confers no rights.

I am trying to restore a deleted site collection and having hard time to find which db this site collection is in. Each content db includes many site collections. Is there anything stored in the configuration db that I can find this information? Thanks! If you get confused, listen to the music play...

Hi, You are trying to retore a deleted site collection so you must be having the backup? So you can directly execute the restore command. You need not search the content DBs for it.Thanks, Rahul Rashu
