How to discover workgroup systems with MAP

Hi

Need help to discover "workgroup" computers where the computers are distributed across the offices and computer credentials are different. tried discovering using the IP but due access issue we couldn't succeed.

error: access denied.

is there any way to do a assessment of the computers without knowing the credentials but are connected to LAN (in work group)

Sorry, no. In order for MAP to perform the WMI queries, it needs to use credentials that are part of the local machine's administrator's group.

At this point you have 2 options. You can either enter the computer name, user name and password for each machine using the manual entry discovery method, or you can create a common user account on all the machines.

Also, you are probably going to have to go to each machine anyway, since you need to add the WMI exception to the firewall. Instructions on what needs to be done for the Windows Firewall can be found in the Getting Started Guide.

Even we have the same issue, in our case, all the Work-group Systems (Windows Server 2003 & 2008R2) configured with common user account and password.

I am using the manual method, by typing the IP address of the system and giving the common credentials.

The query is working fine for the first system mentioned in the list.

Can some guide is there any way, that we give input as file (.csv\.txt) contains the Server name and (User Name and pass
