How to disable SCCM Client install during OSD?
Hi,
How would I disable the SCCM client install in an SCCM OSD task sequence? We wish to put it on later, after a computer rename script is run (which occurs after OSD, due to our environment requirements).

Hi,
It is not possible to "skip" the installation of the SCCM client during the OSD, can't you rename it anyway?

We are able to rename and the client appears to work properly, but it is our understanding that putting on the SCCM Client prior to a PC rename is disfavored since it will report to SCCM under one set of information, and then another, creating duplicate
records.

Nope. The name of a PC is not a unique identifier and thus isn't really significant to ConfigMgr. A simple data discovery record (created by a heartbeat discovery) will update the resources name in ConfigMgr without any issues.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys
