I have a problem in DPM 2012 where a fast inventory and a detailed inventory happens at the start of each PG Backup. This generally is not a problem, except for the fact that one tape drive can take an hour or two to complete the detailed inventory. Last night it took over 3 hours!<o:p></o:p>

1. Why is the inventory running at beginning of each PG backup?<o:p></o:p>

2. How can I stop this happening?<o:p></o:p>

3. Why would just one of the 3 tape drives I am using take so long? For the other 3 drives the detailed inventory takes 30 - 35 seconds<o:p></o:p>

4. I run a manual, Identify > Mark tape as free, after changing tapes. This does a detailed inventory and only takes 30 seconds for each tape drive.<o:p></o:p>

5. the backups are not coinciding with a scheduled maintenance task, as I have not set any and it does not matter what time the backups kick off.<o:p></o:p>
