How to delete the Title Web Part
I can easily add a "Title Web Part" but there seems to be no way to delete it. Please any ideas? This is NOT the title of the Web Part but an actual Web Part itself.Thanks-

On my WSS3 site I have a Web Part called "TitleBarWebPart" I didn't create it it was there. That said it could have been added by the hosting company. But as with other WebParts there is no "X" or delete feature that I can find.

Moving to Admin (and amending your Subject so it reads Title Web Part and not Tile Web Part )WSS FAQ sites: WSS 2.0: http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007: http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com Total list of WSS 3.0 and MOSS 2007 Books (including foreign language titles) http://wss.asaris.de/sites/walsh/Lists/WSSv3%20FAQ/V%20Books.aspx

Hi, The TitleBarWebPart Web Part does not appear in the site gallery by default. If you are creating a new Web Part Page and want a Title Bar on your page, you can add this Web Part to the site gallery by going to Site Settings, and then Go to Site Administration. In the Site Collection Galleries section, click on Manage Web Part Gallery, then click New Web Part, checks the TitleBarWebPart, and then click Populate Gallery. By default, the TitleBarWebPart is added to each web part page when it is rendered. This web part displays the page title and 'Modify Shared Page' menu link. This web part is NOT specified in any SCHEMA.XML file and cannot be disabled. There is a way to hide this web part in the list view in this blog: http://sharingpoint.blogspot.com/2006/01/extreme-sharepoint-design-modifying.html Hope it helps.Xue-Mei Chang

Append ?contents=1 to the end of your web part page URL in the browser address bar and press enter. This will take you to web part maintenance page which lists all the webparts that have been added to the page (even the ones which are closed/hidden or do not allow you too remove them from the page because the AllowRemove attribute is false). You can now delete the title bar webpart from this page.
