How to delete Site System server from by ConfigMgr if the machine crashed and had to be rebuilt from scratch?
Hi Guys,I want to delete one of our BDPs servers from Site Systems by Configuration Manager Console.Say the server name is SRVBDP003When I expand Site Systems the list of servers looks like:Site Systems + SRVSITESEVER + SRVBDP001 + SRVBDP002 + SRVBDP003 + SRVBDP004SRVBPD003 was our Branch Distribution Point and PXE Service Point (and it was working fine until yesterday)I removed the two administrator-definable roles from the server but I still cannot delete the server itself. The 'Delete' does not come up when the I right click on the SRVBDP003.There are only two system roles left: ConfigMgr component Server and ConfigMgr site system, which cannot be manualy removed. The weird thing is that when I open ConfigMgr Service Manager (under Tools) and expand Servers SRVBDP001 is not on the list. Please advise.Tom

Just wait ... Stopping / starting SMS_Executive might speed things up.

You can also do it by restarting the Site Server ... if you can.

And I did that as well, no luck.Does the Site Server require a kind of aknowledgement from the DP/BDB that is to be decomissioned?I also refreshed the MMC under Site Systems as well as under the SRVBDP003 still no option to delete.
Just wondering. As MMC is only the GUI is there any SQL command or a sort of maintanance task that can be run on the site server?

Just wait as it could take some time ... ConfigMgr will take care of that.

You are right Torsten. ConfigMgr took care of it. Today I deleted the old server. In our multi-site systems environment it took about 1.5 day for ConfigMgr to discover that the server was obsolete.Thank you very much.
