How to customize the ootb mail message in SharePoint

Hi,

when we get mails for alerts or notifications such as "I have got access to so and so site". How to customize these oob mails. From where SharePoint picks this templates and sends out a mail to the user?

Please reply if anyone knows.

Specially for the oob workflows and oob user access notifications. Alert mails come from alertxml, I believe. But I do not know about the other types of mails.

Hi

As your description, you want to customize welcome email when granting permissions. Is it right?

Aclinv.aspx is a page used in SharePoint to grant permissions to a user, it can be found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS. You can customize it to achieve your request.

There are some articles about customizing welcome email, please check if they are useful for you:
