How to create a report on who accesses which documents in a folder?
I have some staff that have some hard requirements I need to meet, and I've just taken on this Share Point 2007 environment and know very little. Long story short, they need: 1. When particular documents in a folder are accessed, they need to know, and by whom. 2. A way to report on this information e.g., if Teacher A accesses Document.PDF, Director A needs to know that it was accessed by Teacher A. Is there a built in solution to handle this? I apologize if this is trivial...as I mentioned, I've inherited this SP environment and know little.

You could currently use the Audit Log Reports at the Site Collection level. There are a number of reports there (Content Viewing specifically) that would show you what you're looking for. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-server-help/view-audit-log-reports-HA010100005.aspx HTH - M- Michael Mukalian - 2010 MS MVP SharePoint Services - MCTS: MOSS 2007 Configuration - http://www.mukalian.com/blog

> Michael Mukalian - 2010 MS MVP SharePoint Services If this is correct (and I've no reason to doubt it) you should have a MVP mark under your name when posting to the forums. Please try via your MVP support people to get this fixed so that MVP appears there. You could also change it to read Apr 2010 - Mar 2011 (or whichever exact dates it was). Typically without a closing date it's assumed the award is still valid (as it would be for an award from July or Oct 2010). Ack, totally missed that...the award was for 2010 and not this year...I'll remove it to avoid confusion.- Michael Mukalian - 2010 MS MVP SharePoint Services - MCTS: MOSS 2007 Configuration - http://www.mukalian.com/blog
