How to create System Reserved partition in Windows Server 2008 R2 Reference Task Sequence
When I install Windows Server 2008 R2 manually, the installer creates a 100 MB partition called System Reserved for the system files. This partition has no drive letter assigned. The Operating System is installed on the C-drive. When I create a task sequence for a reference install and capture using a Windows Server 2008 R2 Operating System Install Package, the 100 MB partition is not created but everything is installed on a single partition. How can I install a reference computer with Windows Server 2008 R2 that includes a 100 MB partition that I can capture?

Hello - System reserved partition is for bitlocker, may you can achieve the same through TS, see http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2011/01/20/solution-the-enable-bitlocker-task-fails-to-run-during-a-configmgr-2007-task-sequence.aspx Have you followed the process mentioned in the technet article to capture the image? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb694129.aspx Also, see http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/forum/53-deploy-server-2008/ Anoop C Nair

It seems to work when I add a 100-300 MB boot partition (System Reserved) and apply the OS to the other (big enough) partition when I use a captured image. I can't get it to work when I use the same method by using an original installation source package (Operating System Install Package).
