Thanks Ahmed.I will give a try and let you know the outcome of it. And I guess, if I want to revert back from LDAP (FBA) to Windows authentication then it should be possible, am I right? Thanks in advanceND

Sorry for the delay. I don't think this error is cause by the difference between MOSS and WSS. Can you find more specific error message in SharePoint trace log (\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\LOGS\) ? Or, could you please try the fiddler tools to find out exactly which file is not found (http://www.developer.com/lang/jscript/article.php/3631066/Fiddler-Can-Make-Debugging-Easy.htm ).

Hi NDave,Sorry for this, I am out of office with limited net accessI agree with GuYuming, this has nothing to do with WSS or SharePoint, the solution I have provided should workso please check SharePoint log as well as event logBest Regards, Ammar MCT http://ahmed-ammar.blogspot.com Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

The fiddler results shows that the default.aspx is successfully redirected to login.aspx and some .js and .css files are successfully returned. While the error occured after you had click the submit button on the login.aspx page. Could you please modify your web.config file so that detailed ASP.Net error message would be displayed instead of the SharePoint "user friendly" error page. Please refer to this blog for how to set the web.config file: http://blogs.msdn.com/ericwhite/archive/2008/10/02/modifications-to-web-config-for-debugging-sharepoint-components.aspx
