How to change user language of reporting services?
I installed an english version of SQL Server 2008 R2 on a German version of WIndows 2008. All the SQL Server programs etc. work in English, except when using the Report Manager (http://localhost/Reports) and the Report Generator, which for some reason are both in German. I tried to change this via the Report Manager and configuration tools, but to no avail - I can find no setting which affects which language is displayed. Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem?

Interestingly, when I run the Report Manager on an english system, it is in english, and is in german on a german system. I wish I could specify which language it is in, rather than having it automatically choose the language based on that of the O/S of the client system ;(

Hi Laurence Earp, If I understand you correctly, you might want to specify the report manager homepage’s language rather than having it automatically choose the language based on the O/S. Actually, Client browser language is used for Report Manager/Report Viewer toolbar/My Reports folder name, we could modify the language on the Report Manager Homepage following these steps: 1. Click Tools in the IE menu, and then select Internet Options. 2. Click Languages button, click Add… button to add which language you like. E.g. Janpanese(Japan)[ja-JP] 3. Click Janpanese(Japan)[ja-JP] and move it to top. 4. Click OK. Browser the report manager homepage, you will see the homepage like this picture: For more information about Multi-Lingual or Global Deployments (Reporting Services) ,please click this link http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156493.aspx Thanks, Challen Fu
