Dear All,

I have a Server which is connected on the Local Network.

My server consists of 5 VM's.

I would like to make my Host Machine a DC and the all the VM's as the member of this Host DC. (I can do this...No Problem)

What I am worried about is, Later If I need to add my Host Machine Dc as a member of DC of Local Network Domain Controller.

This means If i need to change the role of my DC to the role member of another DC! 

Is it Possible? If possible then how to do it.

I am sorry that I am quite sure of your configuration.

Did you meam that the Hyper-V host is also a domain controller? In general, it is not recommended to do that as it would cause performance and security issues. It would be better to configure the Hyper-V host as a member server and the VMs as DCs.

It is possible to change the VM as a DC. You can install the AD DS role on the VM and make it a GC, then transfer the FSMO Roles to the new DC. After the replication and everything works fine, then you can demote the Hyper-V host to a member server.

I would like to thank you for your solution and support.

I need a suggestion from your side.

If I make my Hyper-V host a member of DC then what will happen to VMs.

Will the VMs acts as a standalone server or DC if I add ADDS on it.

OR 

Shall I add my VMs also a member of DC same like Hyper-V host.

OR

Is there any method where if a Hyper-V host is a member of a DC then its VMs can also inherit this state and become the member of DC. 

Example: Inheriting role from parent (Here Hyper-V host is Parent and VMs are child)

I dont know whether this is possible, but still trying figure out things if I am unaware of.
