How to change LOGON AS account for SQL Server Reporting Services in SQLServer 2008?
Hi There, I want to change the service logon account for my SQL Server Reporting Services from LOCALSYSTEM to a local user account or domain user account. From the SQLServer Configuration Manager, I right click ont he report services to get to its properties, but it doesn't have the "Logon As" properties to allow me to specify a user account/password (unlike the SQL Server services). It has the statement "Account settings and other configuration settings are managed using the Reporting Configuration Manager'. Can someone pls point me to the right direction on how to change the LOGON service account for Reporting Services?? Thanks & regards, Irene

You'll need to use Reporting Services Configuration Manager to change the service account. Below is the screen shot of where you can find it. After launching the tool, click on the Windows Service Identity tab and change the account. Hope this helps!

Hi IreneKaLam, Thanks for your post and other’s replies. According to your description, you would like to change the service account of the SQL Server Reporting Services, if so, please refer to this link: How to: Configure a Service Account for Reporting Services. Moreover, if your Report Server services runs under a domain account and the password expires before you update it in the Reporting Services Configuration tool, you can refer to the Updating an Expired Password paragraph of this article: Configuring the Report Server Service Account. I hope this can help you, if you have anything more questions, please feel free to let me know. Thanks, Bill Lu Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.
