How to best do a complete backup?
Hi,
I search internet for how I can backup in sharepoint server 2007. In result I found vary methods to backup and recovery each item I want in in sharepoint
server 2007, for example for “my site” I have 3 choice:
1-
Backup from my site ssp
2-
Backup from my site content database
3-
Backup from my site collection
My question is which of them can offer me complete backup? If I backup only my site content database and don’t backup my site ssp, what things
I’m lost?
Or for example if I want to backup from ssp databases,I have 3 choice:
1-
Built-in sharepoint server 2007 tools
2-
SQL Server tools
3-
API tools such as VSS
Also I have above question for this case, for example if I backup from ssp databases with Built-in sharepoint server 2007 tools, what things I’m
lost? each of them give me complete backup or I have to use all of them together?
and another question is: how I can backup customization in sharepoint server 2007 such as:workflow, webpart, master page, page layout , …
with which tools?
I'm very appriciated if anyone help me. thanx.

There are so many things to consider, I'd suggest you get this book:

Right answer but wrong book.
This is a pre-2010 forum so suggesting a 2010 book is off-topic (and besides which the OP clearly states that he is asking about SP 2007)
The book he wants is the 2007 equivalent -

SP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links):

WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx
Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters
